S.E.E.K

( Students Exploring and Expanding Knowledge )

This program is for children in grades 3-8. Teachers make recommendations based on classroom performance and/or achievement test scores. Parent requests are considered although students must score well on two tests to qualify for the S.E.E.K program: the Slosson Intelligence Survey and the Torrence Test of Creativity. Students are pulled from classes once a week for one hour and forty-five minutes. All day field trips occur at the end of some units of study. Students have the opportunity to participate in overnight studies at the Cumberland Science Museum and Cumberland University. Students participating in S.E.E.K are academically challenged at higher levels and encouraged to work on creative thinking skills.
