Parents and Students

IMPORTANT: If you are a new family in the area and plan to have your children attend one of our schools next fall, we would appreciate you contacting the school as soon as possible to register your new student. Several schools are planning early summer registration days for new families. Check with your school by phone and they can provide you with registration information.

The information in this section is intended to provide parents and students with valuable information regarding their educational experience with Wilson County Schools.  The content in this section will change throughout the school year to deliver information that is relevant to the current situations at the schools.

Registering Your Child For School

 

Effective in the 2006-2007 school year, to be compliant with the Tennessee State Board of Education, Wilson County will implement the following grading scale:
93-100 A
85-92 B
75-84 C
70-74 D
0-69 F

For purpose of the HOPE scholarship (Grades 9-12):

3 points will be added to the semester grade for HONORS classes
5 points will be added to the semester grade for AP classes

To determine class rank, the committee recommends keeping in place the system presently used.

For purpose of CLASS RANK (Grades 9-12):

0.5 will be added to the final grade for HONORS classes
1.0 will be added to the final grade for AP classes.

Parents have the right to inspect and review education records at their child’s school and to request an amendment of these records from a school official. Parents must also consent to disclosure of personally identifiable information from education records except as specified by law.
