Kathy Stivender, Principal

Kathy Stivender has been in the education profession for 29 years.  She has taught 3rd  through 12th grades.  Mrs. Stivender has been a part of Stoner Creek since the doors opened in October of 1987.  She began as a classroom teacher at SCE prior to assuming the role of Stoner Creek’s Assistant Principal.  She did this job proudly for ten years and was eventually appointed principal by the Director of Schools, Mr. Mike Davis.  Mrs. Stivender understands Tennessee state curriculum and is knowledgeable of test score data.  She lives by the golden rule as she serves those she leads.  Mrs. Stivender instills trust, harmony, and a positive working relationship with those around her.  Her leadership helps Stoner Creek to maintain order, but provide the positive, warm, and caring atmosphere that is in existence today.  Mrs. Stivender cares about our community, our faculty & staff, parents, and our children.  Her dedication to SCE is evident in her words and actions.  She begins her second year as principal for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Mrs. Stivender is married to a wonderful man, Jim.  They have two children , Knight & Andy, and one granddaughter, Lily.  She and her husband are also proud parents to their dog, Tucker.

Nick Nance has been in the education profession for 12 years.  He has taught in the Wilson, Williamson, and Rutherford County school systems; however, a majority of his time has been spent at Stoner Creek Elementary.  He has taught 1st through 4th grades and was teaching 1st grade prior to assuming the role of Assistant Principal.  Mr. Nance loves Stoner Creek and the community which it serves.  He started his teaching career at SCE as a student teacher in second grade.  He has lived in Mount Juliet for 16 years and is a proud graduate of Mount Juliet High School, class of 1993.  Mr. Nance cares a great deal about all the students, teachers, and parents at Stoner Creek—he has a true empathy for all our SCE families.  Mr. Nance is a tireless worker at Stoner Creek and is always willing to do whatever needs doing to make the school run smoothly and effectively.  His dedication and caring make him a true servant leader.  Mr. Nance is beginning his second year as assistant principal at Stoner Creek.

 

Mr. Nance has very close ties to the community as his parents live in Mt. Juliet.  He is also very active in his church in Mt. Juliet.
